10+ Good foods for children's gums and teeth

We all know the damage that sweets do to oral health, but we are not always aware that there are foods that can be your allies when it comes to caring for the smile of our children. We are not only talking about those that have vitamins and minerals to keep teeth strong, but also foods with textures, shapes, and components that help to have a healthy mouth. We are what we eat, from the moment we take the first bite.

Some of these foods, such as apples and carrots, contribute to the health of the gums by contact. Others, such as onion and garlic, reduce the bacterial load in the mouth during and after feeding. Meanwhile, there are some that collaborate in the absorption of calcium, an essential element to give strength to the teeth.

In addition, some of these foods work as snacks, thereby replacing sweets and other harmful substances for the mouth and, of course, the rest of the body of our little ones. Here is the list of foods that are good for teeth and gums. Take note and prepare to receive congratulations from your dentist.

Apples are reputed to be healthy.
But they are not only good for general health. Chewing is great for producing more saliva and reducing bacteria production. In addition, its texture helps increase blood flow in the gums, which keeps them healthy. Plus, it helps clean the sides of your teeth, where more problems often arise.

11/2
Milk has calcium.
And we all know the importance of calcium for teeth. But in addition, milk and all dairy products have the casein protein, which reduces acidity levels in the mouth. This means that the protective enamel suffers less and protects the teeth more.

11/3
Raw vegetables are full of vitamins.
These vitamins are excellent for health, but in the case of the mouth, the texture is ideal for keeping the gums healthy and removing the remains of other foods that have lodged between the teeth. In addition, vegetables, especially raw ones, will help your children get used to eating everything.

11/4
Eating onion is great for oral health.
Its antimicrobial and antibacterial properties go a long way in stopping the growth of bacteria. If your children refuse to eat them, you can cut them tiny, grate, or liquefy them and add them to their favorite dishes without them noticing.

11/5
Ginger is great for everything.
But in this case, ginger directly helps reduce any inflammation in the mouth. In addition, it increases the circulation of blood in the mouth, which keeps the gums healthy. That, not to mention its antibacterial powers, as it removes plaque from your teeth.

11/6
The cucumber has a texture that is abrasive to bacteria on the teeth.
Since it does not have a strong flavor, cucumber is one of the vegetables that children reject the least. But on the other hand, cucumber is a food with high water content, which will also improve the stomach health of your children and prevent them from suffering from reflux.

11/7
Cheese is a children's favorite.
And it's a great thing for teeth, not only because it has calcium, but because chewing it increases saliva and reduces acidity in the mouth. This mechanism helps decrease the chance that cavity-causing bacteria will grow.

11/8
Although acid is not the best for teeth, oranges are great.
Oranges are the least acidic of citrus fruits and are loaded with vitamin C, which aids in calcium absorption. Of course, have your children brush their teeth and if they cannot, rinse their mouths thoroughly with water after eating them.

11/9
Garlic won't give your kids the best breath.
However, garlic is great for reducing germs and infections in the mouth and on the rest of the body. In addition, one of the components of garlic is acrylic, which helps restore the pH of the mouth and protects the enamel of the teeth. This makes them more resistant to cavities.

11/10
They say that the carrot is excellent for the eyes.
But carrot, especially raw carrot, is also spectacular for teeth as it promotes gum health. It is also a natural abrasive for teeth and keeps children entertained when they feel like eating candy.

11/11
Almonds have many properties.
Almonds are known to be a source of calcium — a quarter-cup of almonds has almost all the calcium that is recommended for daily consumption — but they are also an important source of protein. This makes them an ideal snack for children.
